Business Development Services
The Aboriginal Business Development Centre can assist entrepreneurs in all stages of their business development including completing market research, writing a business plan, registering the business, acquiring financing, hiring staff, and more, as well as assisting with business growth and expansions as well as business acquisitions.
Aboriginal Business Development Centre staff work one-on-one with all clients to learn about your business support needs and strive to provide you with quality individualized feedback and guidance.
The Aboriginal Business Development Centre is not a lender and we, therefore, make referrals to other organizations that do lend such as Aboriginal Financial Institutions.
We work closely with our partners in Prince George and the region to ensure that you get the best possible support in order to help your business be successful. Our services are free and there are no eligibility criteria that you need to meet in order to get an appointment with a Business Support Officer.
Financial Literacy
Financial Literacy is having the knowledge, skills, and ability to understand, analyze, and use information to make informed financial decisions.
The Aboriginal Business and Community Development Centre aim to improve Financial Literacy in the community by hosting FREE Financial Literacy workshops for various groups and individuals. Workshops are interactive and conversation-based and cover topics such as banking, money management, saving, borrowing money, debt, and credit.
Workshops can be hosted to pre-arranged groups of individuals such as Women’s Groups, Adult Education Groups, etc. Group workshops are generally held over a 9:30-3:30 workday at your location although specialized arrangements can be made. Preferred group size is between 5 and 12 individuals. To book a group workshop, contact us.
Community
Development
The Aboriginal Business Development Centre works with Aboriginal communities in order to increase capacity and assist communities to achieve their goals. This support can take many forms but may include: workshop development and hosting, provision of resources, participation on committees or Board of Directors when invited, and the facilitation of potentially useful connections between individuals and groups.
