Community Futures Self Employment Explorer Tool
Community Futures has created an online resource for youth with disabilities to help them explore self employment as a career option. It is called, “The Self Employment Explorer,” and is available online, and in CD ROM format. It is also available in complete Braille translation.
This toolkit is for any youth between the ages of 14 and 24 who has a disability, health condition, or any barrier to regular employment. The Toolkit will help explain key concepts of self employment; it offers self assessment worksheets and online tools to measure one’s entrepreneurial potential; it offers fundamental steps in creating a business plan and selling one’s product ; it offers links to resources to help one get going with a small business operation.
The site is now live on the Community Futures BC EDP website: http://www.toolkit.cf-edp.ca/
