Lakehead University: Nanabijou Aboriginal Graduate Enhancement Program

NAGE is a transition and mentoring program designed specifically to address the challenges faced by Aboriginal and Indigenous undergraduate students at Lakehead University, who wish to pursue advanced degrees at the Master’s and Doctorate level. These students include Inuit, Métis, and First Nations (status and non-status).

NAGE aims to:

  • Support the development of Aboriginal and Indigenous Graduate scholars

  • Enhance growth and pride among Aboriginal students

  • Promote academic success, cultural growth, and affirmation of students by augmenting their academic graduate work with culturally informed mentoring cohorts

  • Encourage and retain Graduate students at Lakehead University (website accessed September 27th, 2010)
